Akshay Kumar stays in news for all the socially empowering movies that he does. But recently he faced an unpleasant situation as some haters started a ‘Hawas Ka Devta Akshay’ trend on Twitter. While most of the accounts tweeting about this seemed fake, it did grab a lot of attention. Soon Akshay’s fans come to the star’s rescue and began trending ‘Akshay Kumar Bharat Veer’ on social media. It seemed to be a fan war of sorts with haters being more aggressive.

The angst of Akshay’s haters was more or less connected to him being a Canadian citizen. Many pointed out that he is not an Indian because he has a Canadian passport. Many also challenged his character and said that he has molested many Bollywood actresses. A tweet read, “This Canadian @akshaykumar is Not only looting our money Not only insulting poor for toilet Not only insulting girls for menstruation Not only insulting our scientists Not only insulting our flag But he is a big MOLESTER also. He is HAWAS KA DEVTA AKSHAY.”




Later, Akshay’s fans revolted against this trend by trending ‘Akshay Kumar Bharat Veer’. Check out some of the tweets below:




Akshay is one of those stars whose patriotism cannot be questioned. With his films and philanthropy work, the PadMan star has proved enough that he loves his country dearly. It was during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections that this issue of him being a Canadian had cropped up. He did not cast vote however he did encourage others to do. We await the star’s reaction on the same.
